| Albino Alligator marks the directorial debut of Kevin Spacey. This dark and unusual mix of comedy and drama, Kevin Spacey's directorial debut, begins as a case of mistaken identities, and soon develops into an exploration of eight characters caught in a situation they can neither control nor predict. On the run from a robbery gone awry, three small time criminals - Dova (Matt Dillon), Milo (Gary Sinese) and Law (William Fichtner) - speed through a federal stakeout and crash their getaway car. They take refuge in the first place they find - Dino's Last Chance Bar, a perfectly maintained watering hole from the Prohibition era with an important distinction: there's only one way out.
Before they can figure their next move, the trio finds themselves surrounded by the police, the media and a determined ATF agent (Joe Mantegna), and are forced by circumstance to remain in the bar alone with five patrons - Janet (Faye Dunaway), Dino (M. Emmet Walsh), Danny (Skeet Ulrich), jack (John Spencer) and Guy (Viggo Mortensen). This cat-and-mouse story follows these characters as they discover the choices they must make, and find that those choices can be as unsettling and perilous as life itself. |
